After Community Bee Day

Hive Legacy.

An additional, optional add-on to the core programme. Where site, safety and school approvals allow, Bee Resilient leaves the school with a managed hive, a beekeeper mentor pathway, seasonal learning support and a practical social-enterprise opportunity.

What Hive Legacy includes

A practical, mentored pathway – not a one-off handover.

This is what the Student Hive Team grows into: real protective gear, a real smoker, real responsibility at the hive, season after season.

Hive handover & site-readiness process

A structured check of site, safety and school approval before any hive is placed.

Beekeeper mentor

A teacher, caretaker or community beekeeper mentor supports the school through every season.

Student Hive Team & learning calendar

A seasonal calendar of hands-on learning, run by a student team with ongoing mentoring.

Honey extraction & label design

Students learn to extract honey and design their own label as part of the programme.

Fundraising / social-enterprise pathway

Subject to food-safety and school requirements, honey becomes a real fundraising product.

Resilience Fund

Students themselves recommend how proceeds are reinvested into the next resilience action.

Not every site suits a honey-bee hive. Where a hive isn't appropriate, schools receive an alternative pollinator habitat package instead – so every school still leaves with a living legacy.

Two ways to experience it. Book a school session at BeeTopia NZ Limited, or we can come to you – for schools taking part in future intakes of the programme.
